Grubegg Manor is situated just 2 kms/1 ml from the centre of Bad Mitterndorf village, standing majestically on its own hill, overlooking valleys on all sides.

The east side looks directly on to the "Grimming Mountain" - the tallest free standing mountain in Styria, while the west side looks onto the cross country ski slopes which turn into green fields full of protected wild flowers in spring, summer and autumn. The sounds of the rivers and streams that flow by the house, the wildlife, and the intermittent rings of the sleigh rides seem too good to be true, but that's just how it is. .

Built in 1591 as "Schloss Grubegg" (castle Grubegg) for a wealthy wood merchant, the house had originally three storeys, but during troubled times back in the seventeen hundreds, the Castle was set on fire, and the roof was replaced on top of the second floor, giving it more the look of a Manor or "Landhaus" even though it still claims the name of "Schloss Grubegg".

Recently renovated to become for the first time a "Boutique Hotel" with eight en-suite bedrooms ranging in size from 35-55 m2 (370-590 sq.ft.) all with unique décor and styles, housing a mixture of antiques and modern furniture blended together to give you the comfort of modern day living set in a traditional world.

Around the house there are plenty of cozy corners where you can escape to read and relax .
